Diversity Youth Manager
Project Description
This project focuses on promoting digital literacy and 21st-century skills as fundamental pillars for socioeconomic inclusion and youth empowerment. Its main objective is to train the figure of the “Youth Diversity Worker”, equipping them with technical competencies in areas such as video blog creation and business coaching methodologies. These professionals will act as facilitators for young people at risk of exclusion, promoting their autonomy, critical thinking and active citizenship in the European Union. Through the mastery of digital tools and the development of an entrepreneurial spirit, the initiative seeks to combat discrimination and poverty, enabling disadvantaged young people to improve their employability and personal leadership. Ultimately, the project reinforces common values of freedom and diversity, transforming media literacy into a tool for social change.
Objectives
- Develop diversity management competencies in working with young people, fostering inclusive, equitable and respectful youth environments.
- Train youth workers and social workers in inclusion and intercultural mediation tools to work with diverse groups (migrants, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, etc.).
- Create safe and participatory spaces where young people from different backgrounds and abilities can co-design projects, activities and coexistence policies.
- Promote equal opportunities and non-discrimination in youth programmes and activities, aligning them with the SDGs and the European Inclusion Agenda.
Implementation
The project is implemented through the training and support of professionals and youth organisations in diversity management, through workshops, seminars and reference materials. Participatory activities are organised with young people to identify inclusion barriers, define solutions and co-create more diverse and representative youth projects. Partners develop guides, good practice sheets and action plans for diversity management, which are tested in real contexts of working with young people and adjusted based on the results. Implementation also includes the creation of a European network of youth workers and inclusion specialists, who share experiences, indicators and impact assessments.
Expected Results
Improvement of diversity management competencies in the youth field, observed in participating organisations and professionals.
Increased participation and representation of historically excluded groups in programmes, activities and youth decision-making.
One or more manuals or diversity management tools for youth workers, ready for use in the day-to-day operations of organisations.
Creation and consolidation of a European community and network dedicated to youth inclusion and diversity in working with young people.
