Project Description

This project has an international scope aimed at transforming healthcare through the integration of advanced technologies such as 3D printing and modelling into daily clinical practice. The core of the initiative is the development of a specialised training course for healthcare professionals, designed to bridge the technical skills gap and facilitate the implementation of digital medical libraries. Thanks to its short and efficient format, the programme ensures economic viability that allows for scalability at European level. The strategy is supported by a strong visual identity and communication tools developed by Inercia Digital and its partners. Finally, a centralised website will serve as an open-access platform to disseminate results, educational resources and success stories, maximising the positive impact on both medical staff and patients’ quality of life.

Objectives

Implementation

The project is based on the creation of a digital learning ecosystem that includes libraries of 3D objects and virtual anatomical models designed for academic and hospital environments. Implementation involves the creation of intensive training courses for teachers and professionals, alongside the deployment of 3D printing infrastructure that allows digital designs to be translated into physical prototypes or tangible teaching models. The consortium encourages the free distribution of these resources on European educational portals, ensuring that the tools are accessible for use in healthcare training centres, universities and research clinics.

Expected Results

Creation of an open library of 3D digital models and printing tools for use in healthcare teaching and research.

Improvement of the digital and technical skills of healthcare trainers in the use of modelling software, 3D printing and virtual simulations.

Increased effectiveness in clinical communication and surgical planning through the prior visualisation of complex anatomical structures.

Establishment of a European network for the exchange of open-access digital educational resources and 3D models to improve the quality of healthcare training at all levels.
