Awareness and Preventions Skills on Cyberbullying and Online Hate Speech for shools children
Project Description
The proposed project addresses the needs of partner organisations to be better prepared for the challenges that the information society brings to our lives. The online dimension and the potential negative impact on democratic development amplify its risks and generate new concerns among young people and organisations working in education. The objective of the project is to raise awareness of cyberbullying and hate speech among children and to provide widely usable training solutions and skills for preventing cyberbullying and critical thinking through partner cooperation and the exchange of knowledge, methodologies and good practices to reduce effects and consequences in the EU.
Objectives
- Develop prevention and response skills against cyberbullying and online hate speech among students in schools.
- Promote safe, ethical and responsible internet use, fostering empathy and positive digital coexistence.
- Provide practical tools for teachers and families to detect and manage situations of virtual bullying in the academic and family environment.
- Empower young people to identify risks in cyberspace and strengthen their capacity for self-protection and reporting.
Implementation
The project is implemented through a non-formal education methodology that integrates practical workshops, interactive sessions and the use of multimedia resources designed for the school environment. Mechanisms of collaboration are established between educational centres, cybersecurity experts and families to create a cohesive prevention network. Activities include the development of action guides, group dynamics focused on resolving digital conflicts and the implementation of awareness programmes that foster a safe school climate in the face of new technological threats.
Expected Results
Increase in students' capacity to recognise and manage situations of cyberbullying and hate speech.
Improvement in students' digital competence, particularly in the areas of security, ethics and digital citizenship.
Increase in the involvement and preparedness of teachers and parents in the prevention and early detection of problems related to the digital lives of young people.
Creation and dissemination of educational resources and good practice guides that can be replicated in other school environments to strengthen digital security.
