Fostering Youth Initiatives through Social Entreprise Education
Project Description
The FSE project aims to foster youth initiative through social entrepreneurship education, providing young people with a theoretical and practical framework that enables them to understand and launch economic initiatives that generate positive social impact. It seeks to inspire young people aged 14 to 30 (and their educators and youth workers) to develop social entrepreneurship projects that contribute to the common good, improving their leadership, cooperation, critical thinking and active citizenship competencies. The project is developed in collaboration with partners from different European countries and covers training, the design of practical proposals and the creation of open materials used in educational centres, youth associations and vocational training entities.
Objectives
- Develop a comprehensive vision of social entrepreneurship in the youth field, facilitating young people's understanding of how to create and manage projects with social and economic impact.
- Foster youth initiative and leadership, encouraging participants to conceive, propose and develop social entrepreneurship projects in their community.
- Improve the capacity of teachers and youth educators to design and apply project-based learning and cooperative work methodologies in the context of social entrepreneurship.
- Create open materials and resources on social entrepreneurship education, which can be integrated into VET and adult education programmes.
Implementation
Project implementation is based on the design of a social entrepreneurship training programme for young people and educators, which is developed in a collaborative learning environment using shareware tools and networking platforms; participants are trained in key entrepreneurship competencies (idea generation, business model design, strategic planning and social impact assessment) and then work in groups to design and present social entrepreneurship projects; the development of these projects is organised in a collaborative environment where peer interaction and support with mentors are encouraged, and at the end of the project, a set of results is presented, including project prototypes, social impact reports and pedagogical materials published in open format for use by other centres and organisations.
Expected Results
Development of youth social entrepreneurship projects with tangible impact on the community, generating improvements in quality of life and social cohesion.
Improvement of educators' and trainers' competence in social entrepreneurship, with tools and methodologies to apply in the classroom and in youth environments.
Generation of open training materials and resources on social entrepreneurship, including didactic guides, case studies and success stories.
Strengthening of transnational cooperation between educational entities and youth organisations, to disseminate and improve social entrepreneurship education.
