Innovative and Practical training for low-skilled and migrants Jobs
Project Description
The IP4J project aims to develop, test and implement a completely new approach to the learning and working of low-skilled individuals and immigrants, starting with career guidance and providing VISUAL practical tools (brochures, videos, APPs) for jobs in demand in the market.
The proposal is based on the introduction of creative and novel forms for the initiation and continuation of vocational education and training (VET) through the intensive use of ICT in order to stimulate accessibility to training materials for the vocational system and to increase career opportunities.
It involves the development of some innovation tools ready to be used by VET professionals working with low-skilled students and immigrants.
The idea for the project comes from another Erasmus+ VET project, an Innovation in VET for Jobs and Employment (IV4J) project called “Good Practices” by the German National Agency and in coordination with the Italian partner. During this project, evidence emerged of a strong need for the use of practical tools such as videos and open visual educational resources.
Objectives
- Facilitate access and participation of low-skilled individuals and migrants in training and employment through practical methodologies adapted to their needs.
- Close the gap between training and the labour market, improving employability and the transition to qualified jobs or continuous training.
- Develop and consolidate career guidance and support pathways (including career guidance tools) for particularly vulnerable groups.
- Strengthen the capacities of partner centres and entities to design and offer practical, flexible and inclusive training programmes that respond to local market demands.
Implementation
The project is implemented through the creation and application of practical training and career guidance pathways, jointly designed by partners from several countries (secondary education/VET, adult education centres, employment services and NGOs). Training courses and modules with a practical approach (job simulations, company placements, laboratories or workshops) are organised, accompanied by individual and group guidance sessions. The consortium develops pedagogical materials (career guidance guides, toolkits and digital resources) which are tested in the various partner contexts, adjusts the methodologies and holds meetings and transnational mobilities to exchange good practices.
Expected Results
Practical and employment-oriented training pathways and modules for low-skilled individuals and migrants, validated in real educational and employment contexts.
Improved employability and labour market transition of participants, with a higher percentage of integration into employment, VET or continuous training.
Development of a career guidance and support toolkit, available as an OER in several languages, aimed at trainers, guidance counsellors and employment services.
Strengthening of the European collaboration network between VET/adult centres, employment services and NGOs, with shared tools and methodologies for the training and guidance of people with fewer opportunities.
