Sustainable Travellers – a guide to environmental, touristic sustainability
Project Description
Those who engage with the results will be motivated to change their behaviour, acquire eco-friendly skills and help tackle climate change. In doing so, they will also learn about the Green Deal, waste reduction and energy. The tourism sector and tour operators. Target group: adult educators, SMEs.
Objectives
- The aim of this project is to develop practical resources and outreach materials that will help adults, adult educators and SMEs in the tourism sector to adopt the principles and practices of sustainable tourism.
- People who engage with the results will be motivated to change their behaviour, acquire eco-friendly skills and help combat climate change.
- Whilst doing so, they will also learn about the Green Deal, waste reduction and energy.
- The tourism sector and tour operators. Target group: adult educators, SMEs.
Implementation
- The initiatives implemented include: training resources on sustainable practices, and a free educational game app designed to help adults become more sustainable travellers.
- A general tour that promotes the fight against climate change by adopting sustainable tourism practices and supporting meetings of the European Green Deal and Identity Project.
- Activities to raise awareness of the project, policy proposals among partners, and the involvement of group members in project activities to gather feedback (workshops, media)
Expected Results
The guide and the canvas templates, which users can use to create their own sustainable practice plans, include recruitment resources, a free game app in English that has been translated into the partners’ languages, a generic tour that can be replicated, policy recommendations, multimedia videos and other promotional material.
Workshops, Facebook page, website, and knowledge-sharing between partners; quality and impact criteria sheets; and project evaluation.
